Wet and windy conditions did not deter the 20 MRRs who took part in the Glen Moray Marathon races today.
First up were the marathoners who did not disappoint with some outstanding performances over a tough, undulating course.
First home in 2nd place (1st Vet) was Ally Campbell in 2.51 followed home by Steve Reeve who was awarded 3rd overall and Simon Dobbs who claimed 3rd Vet. Both also broke 3 hours. Next in was Blair Laird, Colin Green, Keith McArthur and Graham Harcus. Well done to Keith on finishing 3rd SuperVet. First MRR lady home was Michelle Green (3rd Vet) who, along with Karen Norvell, Ally and Steve, won the overall team prize. Well done also to Fiona Hill and Sally Bruce who completed the lineup for the yellas.
In the Half Marathon Paul Taylor (6th), Nigel Williams and Rennie Simmonds flew the flag for the Club as did our 10k runners with Kenny Wilson (2nd), Lynda Anderson (1st Vet), Elspeth Jenkins (3rd Vet), Clare Smith, Barbara Bowie (2nd V60) and Frances Wardhaugh doing the Club proud. A huge thank you to Paul Rogan, Glen Moray Distillery and all the organisations and individuals who made the event a great success.
