Club Standards
To help with motivation and goal setting, MRR has a Club Standards
award scheme.
The distances which qualify for the standards are as follows:
5K, 5 Miles, 10K, 10 Miles, Half Marathon, Marathon.
Awards are Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Yellow.
Standards are based on age and gender.
The year runs from the 1st January through to the 31st December
the same year.
To qualify for an award you need to have completed three out of the
six distances, and achieved the times in the appropriate age/gender
category. (‘Achieved’ = equalling or beating the standard time)
The age category is based on age on the date of the race.
The overall award will be the lowest standard achieved across the 3
distances.
e.g. if the claim was 5K – ‘Silver’; 10K – ‘Silver’; 10 Mile – ‘Bronze’;
then the overall standard award would be ‘Bronze’.
Only official race times can be accepted (Chip Time if electronic timing is used) preferably events with a race permit from a National Body e.g. Scottish Athletics.
Although parkrun is not a race, official times – as shown on the parkrun website – are acceptable for the 5K distance.
Claiming as part of a longer race is not permitted. e.g. claiming a 5 mile standard as part of a 10K race.
Claim Forms must be submitted, with all the required information, by the deadline in January of the following year.
