Ben Rinnes 5 Peak Run

I felt a calming flow today, representing the Club on my very 1st Ben Rinnes 5 peak run.
When John posted the event on the club page I thought it would be great to join him there again after doing a winter excursion through the deep snow.  That was hard going!  But we both enjoyed challenging ourselves.
I looked for John after the event , but he was long gone ! 😆.
The Convals terrain was very hazardous, as the heavy rain recently, created many peat bogs.  The rugged path meant your feet were at all angles as you tried to make running sense of it.  I found myself making up good ground with some of the younger runners going up the Ben but I decided against following their heroic pace going down!
My running number was 123 , so I felt a nice vibration of the event coming too the fore!
I had an epic adventure on the hills yesterday at Kintail, but Hillwalking is where my heart passion lies.
It is good all the same to allow new experiences in, because that Is where you can give your life so many nice
surprises.
I felt I approached the event with great positivity through my experiences with the club.
I wore light weight ankle walking boots to give my ankles extra protection & moved at a nice pace, being
careful not to strain my knees on the downward slopes.
My new water bottle, Running waistcoat proved perfect on the day to sustain the journey from start to finish.
I finished the run with a time of around 3hrs 45 mins.  My Garmin watch decided to closedown for some reason! But I headed across the finishing line with Jordan from Keith who had failed on a previous attempt, but was delighted as I was, to cross the finishing line in a respectable time .
My next outing will be the half Marathon on the 4 September at Huntly.
Tomorrow I will concentrate on upper body muscles ringing some bells 🔔 in Findhorn.
It’s been 2 years, but it’s inspiring to take an hour out now & then, to give thanks for the gifts life brings us meeting new friends & great moments too.
Since I have joined the club, I have strengthened the will to challenge myself with the positivity that surrounds me.
Another great day ! In the club history.
