What an outstanding turnout from the Club at today’s Brodie Castle 10k. 35 ‘yellas’ toed the start line in cool, blustery conditions but, fortunately, not as bad as forecast. In a great display of solo running, Kenny Wilson led home the 361 finishers in 32.06 to win comfortably from Gareth Jenkins (2nd, 1st V40). Louise Cartmell continued her fine form to run a great race finishing 3rd Lady in a time of 39.25. Fantastic to see Louise dipping under 40 minutes again. Nigel Williams claimed 1st V50 (much to his surprise) with Elspeth Jenkins and Barbara Bowie taking 2nd place in the V40 and V60 categories respectively. George Sim continued his form by claiming 1st V60. Well done to all the prize winners.
As pleasing was the number of strong runs throughout the team – far too many to mention individually so well done everybody. Great to see the momentum continuing with another tremendous show of support for the local races. Looking forward to seeing this continue throughout the XC season and into 2017.
Thank you to our own Paul J for the photos and general encouragement.
Finally, thank you to Paul Hughes, Jackie Nicol and the Forres Harriers team for all their efforts in organising another great race.
