Kinloss to Lossie HM – 19/02/2017

Will Mackay (Aberdeen AAC) and Sarah Liebnitz (Inverness Harriers) completed a hat-trick of wins as both claimed victory at the Kinloss to Lossiemouth Half Marathon.
Will Mackay led the 201 runners from start to finish winning in a time of 68.07 which was a course best for the Aberdeen athlete.  In a closely fought Ladies Race, Sarah Liebnitz held off the challenge of Jennifer Elvin to win in 82.11.  With the prizes being spread amongst 13 different Clubs there was still room for success with our own Stephen Carmichael claiming the 2nd V40 prize in 80.22.  Louise Cartmell was our first female finisher in a time of 86.56 to take 4th overall.  With many other of our athletes benefitting from the excellent conditions and westerly breeze, there were many happy faces at the end due to PBs, quality training runs and general enjoyment of the race.

It was another fantastic team effort from the Club to host the race.  Feedback has been excellent.  The Buff Momento’s were well received and it was good to see so many runners in the Buff, on behalf of Moray Roadrunners, a huge thank you to all the runners, spectators, volunteers and organisations such as Elgin ATC, Inverness Radio Volunteers and Run4It Inverness for continuing to support our races.
