This was a new route for the club, having decided to move the route to a different venue this was a test as to how it would go.
I would first like to thank everybody who helped out today, without your help the club would not be able to run these races. From Colin and

his team who set up the course and took it down, to registration, the marshalls on the course, the tea ladies dishing up the food, photographer taking happy pictures, a special thanks to Karen Norvell for agreeing to do the race brief (who knew she had such a loud voice) Ally Bruce for starting the race, to Paul Jamieson for taking hundreds of pictures that will appear on the website. I can’t thank everyone enough and I am sorry I can’t mention everyone.

The hall was set up well and at registration a common question was, what is the route, the route was on the website but I had forgotten to print a copy, Sally, however quickly did a drawing for people to see (Google Maps beware)

There was also a hub of activity around the food tables with a lot of work being done laying out all the food that was very generously brought in, again many thanks to all who donated food, the spread was amazing. A special mention must go to Garry “Daphne” Henderson for his fabulous cake that he brought along. I think the bake off tent beckons.

The race went off without a hitch and the weather gods were kind, with the weather settling down and it not being too windy for everyone.
Overall this first race went well with some good results for the club with Kenny Wilson winning in a time of 32:21 ( although the fact we had Starbucks coffee waiting might have spurred him on)
There were also some very good runs and wins from other MRRs Colin Green won the Male Vet Category, Steve Reeve won the Super Vet and the club also won the Male Team Prize with Kenny Wilson, Scott Cassidy and Colin Green.Overall an excellent result with everyone else who ran getting some good times.
