MRR Miltonduff 10k

Moray Road Runners welcomed 118 participants to the annual Miltonduff 10k with occasional wintry showers and a cold wind proving no barrier to some fantastic racing and strong performances. We were delighted to host a wheelchair athlete, Joanna Robertson, who powered round the undulating course as she prepares for the London Marathon. We hope this paves the way for more wheelchair athletes entering our race in the future.

The men’s race was hotly contested with Kenny Wilson (MRR) battling his way to victory in a course record of 30.37, closely followed by Lachlan Oates and Max Abernethy. James Wilson (4th) and Ben Livesey (5th, 1st V40) joined Kenny to seal 1st Team. Graham Stephen (3rd V40) and Paul Rogan (3rd V50) were our other male prizewinners.

In the Ladies race it was another quality race with victory for Inverness Harriers’ Jenny Bannerman in 37.01 with Jennifer Donaldson and Amy Hudson close behind. Kayleigh Oates (4th) led MRR team mates Jess Haworth and Zoe Hayward to claim the team prize. Sally Bruce (2nd V40) and Elspeth Jenkins (2nd V50) were our other prizewinners.

There were plenty of fine performances from MRRs throughout the field to cap a fine day’s racing. Well done everyone and many thanks to all our volunteers for making the race a great success.
