The scrambled legs 10k run is a new event, organised to raise money for Chest, Heart, Stroke Scotland and The Anthony Nolan trust.
It was run round the forestry trails of the Winding walks in Fochabers.
As well as myself, 2 other MRRs were running, Darrin Cameron and Dave Mathers.
This was my first ever hill run, not to mention my first proper run ‘off road’ (I’m very much a road runner)
Right from the start line, it was a bit of a shock to the system as I was faced with a steep hill, followed by another and another. Together with the persistent drizzle and slippery conditions, it made for an interesting run to the viewpoint, but at least once we got to the top the winding trails back down were a bit of a relief.
Despite the weather, the atmosphere was great and everyone hung around at the end to congratulate each other.
I really enjoyed my first adventure ‘off road’ and may even try it again!
Very well organised and all made worthwhile by the prizes of chocolate eggs for all!!
