The Speyside Windfarm Challenge is, as the name suggests, windy and challenging! This year is the fourth time this race has taken place and
it is great to see the numbers increasing every year.
The Challenge comprises of 3 separate events – a 12 mile run, 9 mile run/walk and a kids fun run. The 12 mile run was won by MRR Scott Cassidy in a time of 1 14, with Colin Green in 3rd place. Well done to them and the other MRRs brave enough to take part – Darrin Cameron,
Neil Purdie, Simon Garland, Dave Mathers, Elspeth Jenkins, Euan Cantlie and Toks Osunrinade.
Those not wishing to run the full 12 miles had the option of the 9 miler, and this race was won by Gareth Jenkins.
Morgan Lewis was first in the kids’ race with Grace Jenkins first girl.
The Windfarm Challenge is the third and final race in the Speyside series, and this year Darrin Cameron was the overall winner of the series. Darrin was also lucky enough to win a voucher for a pair of trainers from Outrun.
All runners were treated to a fantastic spread afterwards, thanks to all involved for the great hospitality.
