Petrofac League Final

Petrofac League Final

The curtain came down on the Petrofac League with Aberdeen Sports Village hosting this year’s Final.  The top 4 age-group teams from our League (North) compete against the top 4 East teams and no fewer than 8 MRR teams qualified for their respective Final.

There were many notable performances throughout the day, including individual wins for Niamh Grant – U10 Long Jump and Shot Putt;  Charlotte Bevan – U14 100m, 200m and High Jump;  Ben Mitchell – U18 High Jump.  Charlotte was also awarded top female performance on the track.

In the overall team events there was a fantastic win for our U10 Girls – Niamh Grant, Megan McKay and Harriet Whelan – against the much larger clubs of Aberdeen, Inverness and Dundee in particular.

The other teams achieved the following placings:

U18 Men = 2nd, U14 Girls = 3rd,  U10 Boys = 5th,  U12 Girls = 5th,  U14 Boys = 5th,  Senior Men = 6th,  U12 Boys = 7th.

A fantastic day all round for the Club with our star performers being ably supported by the unsung heroes who ran, jumped and threw in events to keep accumulating points for the team.  Finally, a big thank you to all the coaches, parents and athletes for making this year’s Petrofac experience a huge success.
