The beautiful setting of Dores hosted this year’s North District XC Champs with some fantastic team and individual performances throughout the day.
Our individual junior medal winners were Cameron Main (U15) who obliterated the field to take Gold. Niamh Whelan (U13) and Michael Laing (U20) both impressed in
picking up Bronze medals over the undulating course.
picking up Bronze medals over the undulating course. Our junior teams didn’t disappoint either with Silver for the U15 trio of Grace Whelan, Megan Smith and Ana Downey. The U13 Boys also took Silver with Blair Milne, Joshua Milne and Oliver Reynolds scoring the points, ably supported by James Newlands and Ryan Cantlie. It was Bronze also for the U15 Boys – Cameron Main, Morgan Lewis and Rory Millar securing the medal with Tom Jenkins and Tomas Coelho completing the team.
Well done to our other junior athletes – Grace Jenkins, Charlie Anderson, Hannah Smith, Beth Grant and Amy Jenkins.
In the senior races Kenny Wilson continued his outstanding form to claim Bronze in a high quality field with Gareth Jenkins taking silver in the
Vet 40 category. It was pleasing to see so many yellow vests on the start line for the senior races, so well done to the following: Michelle Donaldson Slater, Elspeth Jenkins, Lynda Anderson, Gem Munro, Claire Smith, Linda Smith, Karen Norvell, Amanda Strang and Kathy Dunbar for the Ladies and Paul Taylor, Colin Green, Ally Campbell, Darrin Cameron, Steven Morrison, Simon Dobbs, Keith McArthur and Robert Bruce.A huge thank you to Ross Nixon and Inverness Harriers for a superbly organised event and excellent hospitality.
