A great start to the X-Country season saw 25 runners head to Thurso for the 1st race in the North District League.
There were some fantastic performances throughout the day which augurs well for the rest of the season.
First up were the U11s with the Girls taking 3rd team with Tamsin Fowlie (5th) well supported by Megan McKay, Grace Jenkins and Harriet Whelan.
Louis Russell was our sole U11 boy but did not disappoint finishing 4th.
It was 4th also for Blair Milne in the U13 category with Joshua Milne and Ryan Cantlie performing well.
Niamh Whelan had a great run to finish 2nd in her first season as an U13. Morven Ross (6th) and Amy Jenkins helped gain valuable team points.
On to the U15s and Grace Whelan stepped up in distance to finish 3rd in a competitive race.
Morgan Lewis (8th), Sam Anderson, Tom Jenkins and Tomas Coelho all ran well over the 3 mile course.
Buoyed by some fine junior performances, the seniors stepped up to tackle the course in surprisingly pleasant and dry(ish) conditions.

Elspeth Jenkins led the Ladies Team to 4th place with Linda Smith, Jenni Coelho and Kathy Dunbar getting back into the XC swing of things.
The final event of the day saw a hotly contested team race with Kenny Wilson (2nd), Gareth Jenkins (3rd), Paul Taylor, Colin Green and Keith McArthur doing just enough to finish as 1st team in this opening fixture.
Well done to everyone for making the trip up north and lets keep the momentum going throughout the season.
