Sport Aberdeen hosted its annual 10km race with 3,831 runners, of all abilities hitting the city streets.
Two MRRs, Stephen Carmichael and Kenny Wilson made the journey east for the early 9:30 start.
It is mainly a flat, fast course, starting beside the Beach Ballroom, making a loop south before turning back for the long stretch along the coast and then making your way back along Kings Street.
Runners are challenged with a bit of a climb at the 9km mark ( although not as steep as the Buckie 10km hill ) before a fast, slightly downhill finish.
Anyone looking for a PB should consider this one in 2016.
Warm but breezy conditions met the runners for the 2015 edition.
This years men’s race was won by Will Mackay in a time of 32m37 with Kenny Wilson 6 secs back in 2nd place. Forres Harrier Kyle Greig
took third place in 33m06. A group of 5 at the front meant a quick first 4km before the runners began to spread out over the next few kms. Stephen Carmichael ran a strong race with a PB of 36m39 to finish in 28th overall and 4th Vet in a closely fought category. Former MRR Gemma Cormack finished in 2nd place with a time of 37m16 in a women’s race won by Fiona Rudkin.
Looking forward to competing in this race again next year with a few more MRRs.
