Morrisons Great Edinburgh Run – 19/04/2015

Raring to GoThis weekend I ran the Great Edinburgh run which is a 10 miler run within the centre of Edinburgh.

It starts and finishes in Hollyrood park which makes it really easy to get to on public transport.

The start was well laid out and signed.  Despite being a lovely weekend, the weather turned a bit grey and damp, but not enough to spoil the event.

The route takes in most of the major landmarks in Edinburgh, and most of the hills!!Loving it

We ran up part of the royal mile then over towards Princess St, up the Mound, through the Meadows and out to Duddingston Loch before coming round the back of Arthurs seat and finally a welcome downhill for the final mile back to Hollyrood park.

I must say this is a tough course due to the hills but its one of the best and most interesting city races I have run.  Therefore it’s not a run for bagging a PB but it’s a great challenge which I would recommend.

Job DoneThe only thing that lets down these ‘great run’ races is the finishers t-shirt is a plain old cotton one and not a technical t-shirt.
