Our very own MRR Dionne Milne smashed a Scottish Schools record that had stood for 25 years at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games venue.
Dionne was crowned Scottish Schools under – 17 Champion last weekend at Hampden Park.
In her last throw Dionne launched the discus for 44.09 metres. The previous record, set by Alison Grey in 1989, was 42.80 metres.
Dionne is currently the top ranked discus thrower in the UK for her age and is ranked 20th in Europe at youth level. She hopes to earn a Scottish call-up for a schools international on July 19th.
Well done to Dionne and all the hard work she is obviously putting into her training.
