Good weather and picnic blankets contributed to a great day at Morriston playing fields for the annual Elgin Athletics Club mini competition.
MRR athletes Megan McKay, Blair & Joshua Milne and Sam Anderson all competed and each won a medal on a very relaxed and very enjoyable sunny day.
The event is great for all kids to try out athletics without any pressure and a great way for them to try different events. EAAC have done this for 3 years now on the old elgin Highland games date and all juniors should be encouraged to compete.
There was athletes from Aberdeen,Knockando, Forres Elgin Amature Athletics and MRR along with some new to the area. All times and distances was recorded and results can be seen on the elgin athletics Facebook page.
All in all a great social relaxed sunny day for athletes and spectators
Megan McKay took third place overall in the under 13 girls category.
Blair and Joshua Milne fought it out for the under 13 boys title with Joshua winning and Blair runner up.
Sam Anderson took the under 17 boys title.
The other winner of the day was myself winning the lucky squares competition and coming away with a bottle of whisky.
