North District Cross Country Champs – Nairn

Well done to everyone who took part in the cross country relays ,in a “slightly damp”, Nairn today.

Another fantastic show of Yella vests, fabulous to see so many first time cross country runners, hopefully you are all up for some more during the season.

A big thank you to the organisers and their marshals for putting on a great event despite the wet conditions.

I always say that a good cross country race is way better than any effort session and can help get you race fit for the road season.

The results are on the Scottish Athletics website.

Results are:

Senior Ladies – Gold: Katie Anderson, Gemma Cormack and Katja Blunden.

Senior Men – Silver: Ben Livesey, Colin McRae, Kenny Wilson and James Wilson.

Masters Men – Silver: Matt Blunden, Stephen Carmichael, Graham Stephen, Gareth Jenkins.

Masters Ladies – Bronze: Susan McNairney, Karen Norvell, Michelle Slater

Massive well done.

Was also great to see the juniors put in some really gutsy races, though I think they enjoyed the party van even more than the race

Next up is the Scottish national cross country relays in Cumbernauld on the 21st Oct.

Then the league starts on the 28th Oct with a wee trip down to Lochaber.

C’mon the Yellas!!!!
