Gareth welcomed 22 club members to the Annual General Meeting at the Community Centre and gave an interesting account of the Club’s activities and successes in both the senior and junior sections over the last 12 months.

Election of office bearers followed and Gareth, Dave and Colin agreed to continue as Chairperson, Treasurer and Men’s Captain respectively. Frances and Elspeth have both retired from the committee and have been replaced by Faye Mallen (Secretary) and Jenni Coelho (Ladies’ captain). Brian and Sally are to continue as committee members for another year and have been joined by Kathy Dunbar, John-Paul Downey and Steven Morrison with Linda and Keith stepping down. All retiring committee members were thanked for their valuable contribution to the running of the club.

After much discussion, it was decided that the annual fees should be increased to cover the ever-increasing costs of running a club, especially the hiring of our meeting room and the school halls for the juniors. Therefore senior fees will now be £30 per year, juniors, retired, unwaged and unemployed will now be £25 per year and social members will remain £5. Fees will be due January 1st 2014, running to 31st December 2014 and a new membership form will be available soon. The club will continue to pay SAL memberships from subs.

I am to continue as webmaster. However, I do feel that a change is needed to ensure the website remains fresh and interesting. Therefore if anyone fancies taking it over and would like to see how it works please let me know and I will be more than happy to show you how it is done. The website is run from a laptop which belongs to the Club, so it would not involve using your own PC and it is really quite easy to do and a lot of fun. If more than one person is interested, the successor would be decided on by the committee.

And finally, the draw for the Club entry to the London Marathon went to Karen Norvell. Well done Karen and good luck!
