Run o’ the Mill Hill Race – Sunday 27th October

Jenni Coelho was the sole Moray Road Runner to head south to the Ochils for this hill race which attracted a large field of 170 runners, including the infamous Finlay Wild and Angela Mudge, the latter setting a new ladies course record.

This was a tough 9 miler, after the first couple of relatively flat miles the following four miles were all uphill, very steeply at first! The final two and a half miles were, as promised, fast and furious, and great fun. The weather added to the challenge as although the sun was out at the start and the finish, once up in the hills visibility was extremely poor, the wind was brisk (to say the least) and the rain/hail felt like lots of ninjas were out throwing knives at us all!

All in all, a good challenging race and well worth the journey down south! Perhaps a few more hardy hill runners from the Club could make the trip next year …

Thanks for your report Jenni and very well done.
