Glen Ogle 33 Ultramarathon

Glen Ogle 33 Ultramarathon

Saturday 2nd November saw Jenni Coelho taking part in her final ultra-marathon of the year. This race starts in Strathyre, with a loop in the forest above the village before heading off up the valley along the old railway line including passing over a couple of viaducts. There is then a loop in the forest near Killin before returning back down the glen via Balquhidder village to Strathyre, finishing over the “shoogly” bridge.

The scenery is fantastic, on a good day … unfortunately the fine, misty morning degenerated after a couple of hours into a very cold wet day (relentless rain, and sleet on the higher parts). So, atmospheric is a better word. It is a lovely undulating course and there were many people attempting their first ultra-marathon with it being just short of 33 miles.

Jenni finished in 6 hours 27 minutes and is hopeful feeling will return to her fingertips before her next race …

Well done Jenni and thanks for the report.
